The staff was very friendly, restaurant service was not the great though but the food was good.
The check in staff gave me a room right adter I landed after a red eye flight from SFO to Newark. I was able freshen up before my breakfast meeting with my partner. The breakfast service was quick and just right.
Everything need to be upgraded the place is beautiful outside but inside is a different story need to put money in the property so it could look nice .And the staff need to have answers to questions being asked instead of looking at you like your stupid when your asking wuestions
Everyone who worked at the hotel were helpful and courteous
The rooms in this hotel are terrible. Stained chairs and decor hasn't been updated in decades.
Suck in everything not professional Poor customer service, pool to small
I had a several week stay at the Holiday Inn Somerset while in town for business. The room was large, bright, and clean, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.
I arrived at the hotel approximately 8:00 PM. There were two people in front of me to check in. It took approximately 25 minutes for me to get a room key as one clerk was on the phone almost the entire time and the other was a new employee or trainee. When I got to my room, the key did not work and I had to go back to the lobby, wait in line some more before I received a key that worked. Overall, it took about 45 minutes to gain entrance to my room The room smelled of disinfectant and was a bit outdated. The ice machine ran out of ice. The other amenities of the hotel were average. I will never stay at this hotel again. There are plenty of other options in close proximity.
change the curtains in room 231 and clean the carpet room smell n couldn't sleep because of light shining through the window
Average hotel for a business trip. There is nothing in particular about this hotel that is good or bad, it just is. Convenient for our business trip
This hotel is a great place to stay in central NJ. The staff is very courteous without being overbearing. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The food at the hotel restaurant was fresh and tasty. All in all, a great value for the money.
Just want we were looking for - a comfortable place to sleep while resting from our long drive
Staff polite and professional rooms clean and hotel lobby and front desk pleasant to the eyes
Maybe would-be Nice to add some Smoking areas or even Smoking rooms for those that smoke
My first time staying at this Holiday Inn. Online reservation I was able to designate early arrival and at checkout I requested a slightly later departure and no additional charges. I enjoyed the convenience of the availability of the restaurant and pub. No need to leave the property for those amenities.
Satisfecho con el cuarto y atencion que obtuve ya son muchas veces que acudo a este hotel
Great experience staying at this hotel. Checked in earlier and had a nice family time in the evening
This is a standard-issue Holiday Inn. No surprises, either good or bad. Food in the Irish Pub was fine but our waitress was pretty much useless. She was slow (even though the bar was quiet) and she got the order wrong.
I've been coming to this hotel for 15 years. I think they are really making an effort to improve the facility. Most recently they did a significant upgrade to the pool area. They now have a bar outdoors and lounge chairs and tables iaround the pool. It looks very nice.
this hotel perhaps has too many tour groups and does not care guess feeling or services
They dont treat you well..had to checkout a day early
Pillows were to soft. Towels were to rough, need softener. Room carpet quite old and stained.
I did not have any problems. Comfortable bed. Room was clean, Could have more TV channels.
Great location/place to stay with a good breakfast buffet that is well worth the price.
Traveled to NJ on personal trip and had a comfortable and quiet stay
Hotel served it's purpose. It was close to the venue we needed to be at and the price was right. Would stay here again.
Hotel is easy to reach and well-located. Rooms have a dated look but otherwise ok. However, did not receive the usual friendly service that most IHG hotels provide. Check-in night staff did not greet or acknowledge as an IHG member (not even a smile). When I tried to inquire from the day staff the next day about Platinum benefits like newspaper etc, was told that only points are given, nothing else. On-site restaurant did not offer the 10% discount (as member and IHG credit card holder) that I receive at other IHG hotel dining. Overall staff (hotel and restaurant) seemed to be unenthusiastic.
The only problem is old room which is not yet updated to the level of holiday inn and no microwave and no refrigerator.
Loved everything... Only thing I wish the swimming pool will be heated, for the days when it is too cold to get in water.
Hotel overall is good but there needs to be fresh air circulation in the gym. I could not use the gym because of strong odor. Could not even open the door to let fresh air in.
Really appreciate the hospitality and cleanliness. Location is perfect for quick access to places I needed
Great location. Old establishment. Good bar and restaurant. Parking was ample but very busy
Other than the AC unit in the room initially assigned being out of order, the stay was as expected for the purpose.
They have subbed out the restaurant to an Irish pub. However the hotel needs to be responsible for this as well. The restaurant staff is extremely rude. It looks like they have a regular crowd so hotels guests some really seem welcome. Totally ignored several time then I gave up.
Rooms are standard for the hotel chain. The internet is free and some what dependable. Wished it was more stable as something's it would be a decent speed and them it would become similar to dial up.
The Holiday Inn Somerset-Bridgewater was an official overflow hotel for a festival I attend yearly, and, each time, it doesn't fail to impress. The food, room service, friendly staff, and room cleanliness were above par, and I absolutely will return here sometime.
Hotel is generally a good place to stay if you are in the area on business.
This was my first stay at the Holiday Inn Somerset-Bridgewater since my company relocated our team to the area, and I am well pleased. Definitely will return again if I am in the area. I would like to thank all the hotel staff I met, in particular the front desk, management, housekeeping, and (breakfast) restaurant staff for excellent service. If I come back to the bar (Cavanaughs - not sure if this is part of the hotel as such) I must remember to bring the guide on how to pour a pint of Guinness. Or at least to not leave a gap at the top... that's a sacrilege where I come from folks :-)
Good hotel but no free breakfast / Hotel is clean and fancy. Easy to access. One family which have 4(two adults and two kids) paid continental breakfast around $50 included tips.
Thank you for helping out a last minute trip after another hotel had an issue with our stay. And also thanks again for the excellent room. I saw many handle bars in the bathtub that would benefit those who have mobility issues. This was unexpected for a non handicap room. One bar, one restaurant to help with both the social and meal needs. And finally, they have an electric charger in the back.
The rooms are great. Fitness room was small and had a few machines. No weights. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff was preparing dining room for afternoon and were noisy with silverware and hanging around the buffet making it difficult to enjoy breakfast. Some staff not too friendly. Overall great stay.
Great value for a last minute booking! Room was clean, but could use a bit of updating. Very lively restaurant and bar scene.
No additional comments for my stay his time. This was a business trip and everything was in order.
Front desk staff Viren and Ihab always greet me warmly by name. Michelle in PJ Cavanaugh's gives great service and remembers my order. The property is a bit old and the fitness center not extensive, but I have a good night's sleep every time I'm there.
OUT of exit 10 on I 87 ... THERE should BE A sign indicating where to go
Stayed at this hotel for a wedding and couldn''t have been more pleased
Excellent. The person that serviced my room was great. She moved all of my "notes and papers" and placed them in my calendar book.
The staff at this motel was very friendly and helpful. The motel is very conveniently located. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Unfortunately, the room wasn't dusted as well as it might have been.
Okay to stay but make an arrangement for your breakfast in the morning as they do not provide just like other Holiday inn
Over experience was good, bed sheets had a little stain (I brought my own anyway.) One of the elevator was down so it was a few minutes wait in the morning hour. Foods at the bar/restaurant weren't so great this time. I had shrimp scampi pasta but it was so sour, I don't know if the chef mixed up the white wine with the lemon juice or not but it was very sour. The staffs were very nice and polite.
