"Restaurant" needs some serious attention, very lame! Felt like I was in a cafeteria, there was no bar at all, possibly due to construction that I think has been going on close to a year?! Food for my one dinner was blah, definitely not fresh corned beef, thankfully 5 min walk and many other choices, would not eat there again! Breakfast card put outside of door 10pm night before for 9am delivery..open door at 905 and card was still there, no body picked it up??? They promptly brought my order but it was 20 min later than I wanted, made me rush my morning... no discount, should have been free! Next morning they got it to me...10 min early, bacon was nasty and soggy...who's running all that down there?!
Really wish I didn't stay here... was so frustrating to have the construction everywhere and not being able to access the elevator for parking. I was so tired from driving all I wanted to do was crash in a nice hotel. It took 4 hours to get my room key, which stopped working after the first time. I wish I could have gotten my money back and stayed in ANY other hotel. The staff was nice, I must say... they felt bad and did what they could to help.
Disclaimer: Hotel is under construction. Was not notified or warned at time of making reservation. Check in was delayed due to a connection issue with their computers and key card system. I was not able to get a room and was asked to wait in the restaurant while a contractor worked on getting the network back online. I was able to connect to the internet in a lobby area away from the construction and get some work done. A few hours later I went to the front desk to see if any progress had been made. The host was able to get me checked in however I needed an escort to my room due to the key card system was still down. Once escorted to my room by a General Contractor (not an employee of the hotel) I was finally able to unwind. The room was fine, but the bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly. I was upgraded to a King room which I was not thrilled about or even asked. The King beds are never as comfortable as the Full Size or Queen beds at IHG hotels. I decided to go to the Cherry Hill Mall nearby. At this point I needed to escape this place. The location of this hotel is good. There were plenty of options in the area to get out. Once I was at the mall it crossed my mind there was a non hotel employee (the contractor) with a master key. Not a fan of the King Beds at IHG hotels. Bathroom was not what I would consider clean. Staff was not handling the technical difficulties professionally. It was not a relaxing experience.
Other than no complimentary breakfast it was a very nice hotel. Everyone was very nice and accommodating.
Excellent hotel. I would stay there again in the future.
The best part of this hotel is definitely the staff, across the board. The breakfasts were hot and fresh. The hotel was clean despite the construction. The rooms were clean- but could use a microwave. The hotel was centrally located to the arenas I was going to for our tournament. I was not happy about not being notified in advanced that there was construction going on, or not being aware of the parking situation. The garage doesn't really accommodate larger vehicles or roof top cargo carriers.
this is a great place to stay for your money, cant go wrong with this place, neighborhood is very nice and place is very convenient to Denver, would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and looking for a place to stay. awesome view as well if you get a room facing the mountains.
The staff as excellent. I was visiting Denver to see my aunt who was terminal and the staff at the hotel could not have more caring, attentive and sympathetic when she passed away on the Friday of my stay. Can't really give my opinion on the hotel itself since it was undergoing renovations during my stay.
Front desk staff was great and acknowledged my Spire Elite status with an upgrade. Hotel is under renovation and was a bit unkept. I would stay there again after renovation. Really good location and complimentary shuttle to local shopping and restaurants.
Place was great, except for the construction in lobby
10 out of 10, very good visit room was great, staff was great
It seems like this hotel could have been consistent with what one would expect from an HIE, but because of the renovations it wasn't. Issues came up with parking, there was no breakfast available, and the non-renovated room in which I stayed was out of date and awkward.
the only problem was they were doing construction on the lobby.
The hotel is currently under construction which makes it additionally challenging to provide the best hotel experience. The pool was chilly and the terrace area too cold to hang out and relax. Access to the pool was challenging as the regular doors were closed due to construction. The elevator for the main building looks very tired and worn. The parking situation was a real hassle for many other guest but I didn't experience it as I lucked out getting a space in the front of the building. The free shuttle to Cherry Creek is a great amenity. I will stay there again AFTER the construction is complete. The price was good considering the time of year and condition of the space.
When we booked this hotel we were not told that it was in he process of being remodeled. Upon arrival we waited 45 minutes to get our reserved king suite room. The lobby level is an unheated and under construction. The primary hotel parking ramp was closed which made for a long walk to and from a neighboring parking ramp. We had initially booked 2 nights, but departed after only 1 night.
Breakfast was great! Construction going on while we were there so... No points for that. Shuttle doesn't run on weekends. Not good. Most staff was friendly with the exception of one in the dining room. $8 for one beer. A bit over priced there. I'm sure the hotel is losing a lot of business at the bar over this considering the Super Target across the street sells beer at normal prices.
Excellent view from the 8th floor! Loved the pillows!!
I would not travel back to the hotel until ALL renovations were completed. Check-in/Check out were tough with all the noise.... had to repeat myself several times and ended up having to yell. I feel that the hotel should have notified me, after booking, that they would be tearing the house down!!! The restaurant was very cold and drafty because the doors were left open to the restaurant, and after asking the waitress to close the doors; she said "well maybe I can close one door". I was about to blow a gasket, but rather kept to myself. Had I been with the family; I would have left immediately!!!
Nice central location in Cherry Creek. Quiet rooms.
flexible and accommodating, coffee next door, all other desired items nearby. Quiet and secure. The renovation should elevate the ambiance.
At the time of our stay, the hotel was under construction. We stay at this hotel pretty much every time we go to Denver because we like the location, the price seems comparable, and we like the hotel. This review was based just on this stay.
I wished I remembered her name but the lady who checked me in was very energized. The man behind her said nothing almost as if we were an interruption. When asking for a late check out I was told 2. I am a priority club member who I thought could request a 3pm check out. I was rudely told NO. I use to work for this property where guest services was held with high expectation . How time changes things. I will not be staying there again.
Not what I expected of a Holiday Inn. I paid top dollar and could have had it as good or better at another place. Too many details here to go into.
Nice hotel, easy to park and get in and out of. Room was comfortable and updated. Everything was clean and new.
This property was being renovated. The rooms were fine but the lobby, restaurant & front desk were terrible. I was not notified of the renovation when the reservation was made and there should have a price accommodation for the inconvenience. Worst of all, there was a fire alarm at 3 AM and it took almost 45 minutes to determine that it was a false alarm.
Limited parking. Hotel allows event guests to park in the limited parking, forcing hotel patrons to park off grounds. Full garbages. Very limited English spoken from a number of employees. Cold water dripping from glass ceiling in pool onto tables and guests. Hotel under some minor construction which cause cold outside air to enter the dining area...needed to wear a jacket to eat. Could have easily placed a large partition outside the entry doors to block drafting into the dining area. No real area for large groups to hang out and visit with each other and no real effort by the staff to accommodate these situations...i.e. open up the dining area and make it accessible, etc. l.
only one elevator no breakfast.Heavy construction on main floor. Was happy with our room and location.
Atmosfere accogliente e staff molto simpatico e cordiale. Ottima colazione e servizio nel ristorante.
This hotel fit the bill just fine with a comfortable bed and good service.
Our stay to this Holiday Inn was wonderful! The staff made it a memorable experience, they were so nice! Construction was on-going during our stay, but everything was kept clean and noise was minimal.
Although the lobby area was being renovated during our stay, the hotel room and dining room/restaurant weren't affected. Good room, nicely furnished, great bed and linens. I appreciate having a small fridge in the room for leftovers and medications that need refrigeration. Also liked having the full hot breakfast in the restaurant rather than continental junk food. Will definitely stay at this Holiday Inn in the future.
I've said enough but if you insist...staff was unmotivated but how could you blame them the place is a wreck.
Was fairly disappointed with the customer service and especially the Breakfast. Front desk was rude when they couldn't find my reservation which was made by my bass and was just under a different name. They suggested that I was in the wrong place and gave me a 800 number to call which took about 20 minutes to figure out that I was in the right place. I assumed breakfast was complimentary as it is in most Holiday Inns. Come to find out it was 13.99 and definitely not worth it! It was cheaper for a coffee and sandwich at Starbucks and far more tasty.
When told of a bloody mess on pool deck, staff jumped to attention and... placed a sign over it where it stayed for the next 15 hours before being cleaned up. When told of a backed up bath tub, desk clerk silently took $20 dollars off the bill and said have a nice day.
walls are paper thin and can hear everything around you. this hotel would be so much nicer if it were not under construction. staff at front desk are very nice but the maitanance and housekeepers just look at you and dont say a word. it was fine for it being a hotel in a big city and it was what i expected except for the construction part. the front desk is in what looks like to be the breakfast bar kitchen and it just gives a bad vibe because of the construction. front desk lady was trying to be helpful but told us that our destination was a mile and a half up the road, so we decided to walk, it ended up being three miles later that we found it.
Saw the good rating "4/5" on this hotel when having to come to town for conference. If I had came to this hotel for the my first experience at IHG, I would never become a IHG member. Booked a king room for 3 nights. Got a standard room for 3 nights. Paid that highest price for a room in my 6 years of being with IHG and then had to pay $16 for breakfast. That would have been ok if it was better than the normal free breakfasts. The room I had heat was on when I walked in and it was 85 Deg, I turned on the A/C and it cooled the room to 80 Deg. Told the front desk but they didn't really seem to care. I also told them about the toilet was clogged which nothing was not looked into. I have more business to do in Denver but will think twice about going to this IHG location.
The hotel was very dirty overall. They are going through some new construction and it really put a damper on our meeting group. The smell of bleach was very strong. The beverage, ie. wine selections was very poor. They were not kept cold, put in a tub of ice.. not acceptable for white wine.
I stay in this hotel every few months for work, and this was by far the worst experience I've had here. The hotel is currently under renovation, and there's only one elevator serving the main building, including the parking garage. I travel enough that renovations don't bother me, generally speaking, but the elevator situation was a complete mess and actually caused some delays. The staff here is usually really great, but they were a bit off for this trip. I have to think that the renovations have caused a major disruption in the back-of-house workings, and things were just not on point this time. This hotel is in a great location, and the price point is very fair, but I would recommend having very low expectations as long as they are renovating. Maybe worth calling before you book. Also worth noting: I checked in on Tuesday evening, after Daylight Savings Time, and the clock in my room hadn't been changed.
Makes for a great remote working location due to the great internet speed and reliability.
Staff very friendly. The hotel shuttle does NOT run on the weekend. Close to Cherry Creek mall- great shopping and lots of restaurants. Staff gave lots of advice as to where to eat-what to do in the area. Hotel not that impressive from the outside, however they are undergoing rennovations so difficult to get the final picture. Upgraded to two room suite with two bathrooms. Very nice for our friends to hang out in our room and play cards in the living room area. Room was next to the elevator, however there was NO noise!
It would be a lot quicker to post what was good about stay. The food was great and bed comfortable but getting to the two was a whole other story! EVERYTHING else about this hotel property was lousy if I could give a neg 0 I would.
Overall, great stay. The only problem is the hotel is currently under construction so the front office/doorway is a mess. They were fixing the water pipes so we didn't have any hot water until the next morning. The breakfast was really excellent though. Room was quiet and up to date. Bathroom was clean, however, the shower and tub itself was slightly outdated and had old mildew around the caulking (not house-keeping's fault). Would have liked to see that renovated. Great location and staff was very pleasant. Would definitely recommend.
This place was probably for the money paid, the worst place I have ever been. The pool was closed and their webpage didn't tell me that until I was already paying for it, so my kid was very disappointed. And of course, still full price. This place is a maze. We tried to park in the parking garage area, but elevator took us no where and key cards didn't even work in those elevators. After we found some guys to let us out of the elevators, we walked about a block back to the front just to get back into the hotel. And why on earth does anyone need a room card just to use the elevators? Dumbest thing I have ever seen in a hotel. And the elevators were the slowest I have ever seen in my life. At least 2 times we waited at least, at least 5 minutes for it to come to our floor. There couldn't have been more than 20 people in the whole hotel. My 6 year old was so disappointed, she even told a worker in the elevator and a guest on our way out that we would never stay here again. The guest just laughed forever that she said it in front of a worker. And if you don't want to take the elevator, the stairs are just as crazy. Only one side even went to the lobby floor. I don't even know where the other stairs went, some basement or something. I quickly turned around and went back up. This has got to the worst hotel in Denver.
I'm not going to repeat what I already wrote in the earlier part of the survey.
When I visited, the entire lobby and restaurant/bar area were under renovation. As a result, one of the elevators for the east tower was closed. This directly impacted the length of time it took to get upstairs/downstairs, as hotel staff with housekeeping carts and room service also had to use the same elevator. As I had a room right outside the elevator, I was worried about the noise, but it wasn't loud at all. The hotel was comfortable and clean, and let me get my work done. The staff was courteous and attended to my needs.
Overall material condition of this hotel is unsatisfactory. Understand that construction is underway but upon check-in to room: 1. Heater cover was loose - loud rattle all night. Fixed during the second day. 2. Bathroom vent fan was hanging loose from the ceiling. 3. Nightstand drawer was broken/unusable. 4. Carpet was filthy - dirty and stained. Upon returning to my room on the second day after a day at work found the bathtub and sink backed up with a disgusting black liquid. My room was switched. Had breakfast in the hotel - saw a cockroach crawl across the fruit bar. Breakfast was comp'd but that hardly made up for the negative experience. Staff was friendly and tried to make up for the many material shortcomings at the hotel. Hopefully after the lobby construction is complete Holiday Inn will commit to updating the rooms. Would not stay here again.
Our group was in town for an optical conference. Even though the hotel was under renovation, it was a great stay. Arthur in the restaurant was awesome, and the staff handling our meeting space were great. Thanks for taking care of us!
Great location in Cherry Creek for a business visit. Close to Target and several dining options that allowed me to walk, and shuttle provided service if I didn't feel like walking. Lobby and common space was under remodel, which was a challenge as it resulted in one elevator in the tower I was staying in and cause delays in the morning. Also made things feel dingy at times, but really was very clean and tidy.
Comfortable room and reasonable rate. However, no service at Bar and Grill. It was open, but literally no staff around. Walked in 3 times between 6-9pm on 17 Oct to get some food and cash in my free drink voucher. Should have taken the points or just walked off with a beer, but ended up going to Applebee's instead. You may want to skip this one until all of their construction is complete and staffing issues resolved.
