We have stayed at the Holiday Inn-A2 near the University of Michigan on several occasions, most recently in Oct 18, 2017. The staff have always been friendly and efficient and the room condition has been very good. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The location is excellent for traveling to and from the U.
The hotel feels a little outdated, but it is excellently located. It's surrounded by several restaurants within walking distance, not to mention that the woods around it provide a feeling of coziness. The room was big and comfy, although the air conditioning could use some modernization.
Staff is short with other staff members. No one takes responsibility for anything and they will find an excuse for everything! Unprofessional and I will never stay again.
I found this hotel to be comfortable and I will recommend to a friend
Great stay! We will stay again. We loved the open concept to the pool and the patio.
Room was clean , bed comfortable, washroom was a little to small, Staff at front desk were great.
everything was great except that when I got to the room it was very chilly. (The air conditioning was on, and it was a cold and rainy night in Michigan.) I turned up the heat and it quickly warmed up. Problem solved!
We stayed at this location because a family member was undergoing major surgery at U of M. The hotel staff understood immediately and always asked us how we were doing. They had a shuttle service available at all times and it was awesome. I never had to stress about getting to or coming from the hospital. The shuttle people were so kind and understanding as well.
The mattress seemed a little lumpy. I appreciated being on the first floor, but I think some drapes are needed there.
7The breakfast buffet was truly outstanding with superb variety and quality!
Was sure when I booked the room that breakfast was included but I was told that was not true. Given daily rate I paid for the room I found this disappointing. Only other compliant is that most of the accessible outlets were incorporated within the room lamps and 1/2 of them were not serviceable. Had a difficult time with nightly charging of electronics.
Nice clean, modern rooms. Thick towels. Fridge, microwave. As in most hotel rooms, it feels like there is never enough light. Lobby area very clean and welcoming. The only complaint would be that we were there for 2 days with a family of four, and only received 2 breakfast coupons.
would stop back for all trips to ann arbor nice rooms polite staff
The rooms were clean and staff was nice. I wish the pool and gym were bigger but overall not a bad place to stay.
The shuttle service to/from the U of M Hospital was so convenient. The drivers were so friendly; I especially enjoyed talking with Charlie.
Nice clean hotel. Staff is very helpful. Bar and restaurant on premises.
The Holiday Inn in Ann Arbor MI is the best hotel!! The staff is outstanding, kind, and extremely helpful! The manager, Dan is a stellar human being and Michelle, who handles my reservations is amazing! I stayed there for 2 months, while my husband was in the hospital at the UM, and the staff really helped me to be as comfortable as possible. On our return visits, they really have made me feel like family! I recommend this hotel without a single complaint!
We paid the up charge for the "executive wing" and having access to cold water, pop, and fruit was really appreciated. Let me post the description below... "Amenities on this executive wing include a 24 lounge with a computer water sodas fruit yogurt coffee tea and morning danishes and breakfast sandwiches. Free WiFi access and complimentary snack basket bathrobe kuerig coffeemaker serta pillowtop mattress microwave and fridge in every room." What was missing was bathrobes, and by 0730am there was only one breakfast sandwich left. Not big deal breakers but I felt like details were lacking. Overall, if I hadn't read the room amenities, it would have been good and the room was very clean.
I could tell my stay at this Holiday Inn was going to be great as soon as I walked in the door. The check in process was fast and the staff members at the desk were friendly, happy and really seemed to enjoy their job. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a little firm for my taste but I like softer beds. I had dinner at the bar and the bartender there, I think her name was Laura, was fantastic!! She treated everyone who came in like an old friend. I will definitely stay at this Holiday Inn the next time I'm in Ann Arbor.
Clean hotel, close to campus. Easy in/out and comfortable room. Extremely friendly staff. Only issues were that it is starting to wear a little (bathroom grout, etc) and wireless internet practically unusable from my room. I had a hotspot so I was able to ignore that problem!
Hotel was comfortable and clean. Furniture could have been less banged up. We had a handicap room as that was all we could get in king size bed. Had some problems initially getting tv to work, but that was due to our limited technological knowledge. Never did find switch to turn on reading light behind chair. I particularly liked the supplies in bathroom. From Bath and Body Works. Smelled good. Would stay there again. Shuttle service was excellent.
We felt comfortable in the room and enjoyed several good meals in the restaurant while waiting for a family member to recover from surgery at nearby U of M hospital. Staff was cheerful and very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.
The room was comfortable; bedding very nice; pillows comfortable; room clean; everything was good, except---the bathroom needs an exhaust fan to take the steam away from the shower.
My husband and I stay here when visiting U of M for his frequent medical treatments and visits. We prefer this hotel because of the friendly staff in the hotel and the restaurant. We are never disappointed since everything is top notch! The guest rooms are extremely clean and very comfortable and easily accessible for my husband who is handicapped. The restaurant staff is friendly and very attentive. We look forward to seeing them for dinner and breakfast during our stays. Lunch is always at the hospital or we would come back here because of the convenience of not having to leave the hotel.
Other than the after-visit survey taking too long, I thought this hotel allowed me to move in the morning with great efficiency. Shuttles are prompt. Food is prompt. It is in a quiet area so you would never know you are in a college town. There is a CVS nearby if you need anything.
Everyone was great the bar staff in the evening were outstanding
Our stay here was a good one. We were here for a football game which made the rooms pricey but in line with the competition. There was a shuttle right at the hotel for the football game which was very convenient. The room was comfortable, especially the bed. There was a choice of soft or firm pillows which we liked since each of us likes different firmness. But stay away from the restaurant for breakfast. The service was not good and the neither was the food.
Very convenient if using the U of M hospital and the special rate for the hospital is great. Having a restaurant on the property that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner is very helpful.
The room I had reserved was given to another guest I was given a different room upon arrival swimming pool out of order
Excellent. Met or exceeded all expectations. We were very comfortable traveling in the area and returning to our hotel. It is located in a very good spot.
Beds are always great and service was very good too. Bathroom vent does not adequately minimize condensation and allows cigarette smoke from other rooms to seep in during the night.
This is a great cost-value hotel, with in a nice area, with great amenities surrounding it, and close to where I work. Definitely, a great option!
Lori at the front desk was very helpful, and we appreciated the shuttle to the hospital.
Our stay was very nice. Our only complaint was our neighbors in the room next door were noisy, with talking and going in and out of their room, letting the door slam behind them after midnight.
Good price and location I assumed it was closer to the university of Michigan than it was. It wasn't that far away
My daughter and I recently stayed at the IHG on Plymouth Road/U of M North Campus. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the idea of putting firm and soft pillows on the beds which were embroidered on the pillowcases.
People either need to sit down or staff needs to tel they can't stand by the door.
This location was friendly and clean. As someone who's worked in hospitality I can say they have a very good eye for detail in property maintenance. The pool area was older but well maintained. They had maintenance on staff at 9pm on a Saturday testing the water, impressive. My only suggestion is that breakfast should be thrown in at that price. There are many other chains stepping up their game at that price point that are including breakfast as well as including no charge for pets.
Nice bed , room size was good, breakfast was good, hotel was clean, service was great, over all a pleasant place to stay. We were able to check on with no issues even though it was late.
Pleasantly surprised how beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable this hotel was. Close to campus and convenient rent a car service in hotel. Very nice staff. We will be back!
I reserved an executive room and a regular room at this hotel, but other than offering a quieter air conditioner and a few soft drinks in the executive "lounge", there was no difference in the rooms. Certainly would not pay the executive room rate here and probably not the regular room rate until those rooms are updated. Front desk had untrained personnel who first mis-charged me on my bill, then took 20 minutes to figure out how to correct. Restaurant personnel were indifferent to guests, s-l-o-w to acknowledge arrival at table and follow up on guests. Overall, a disappointment.
Everything was great the hotel service was excellent very accommodating thoughtful was prompt with everything loved my room and bus service was fabulous will be returning every six months to cancer center and stay here food was so so
I stayed here during the weekend of August 25, 2017 for a event going on in A2 relating to the augmented reality game Ingress. I was pleased with my stay and would return here again if I chose to to stay for a few days in A2 in the future. Staff was friendly hotel and area surrounding was clean.
Booked a king executive given a normal king room. Did not attempt to make it right in anyway except to mention that "well, you booked a cheap rate so we can't even give you any money off your stay". (Never asked for money off stay) At least attempt to make it right to your customer. A free drink voucher, meal voucher, etc.. can go a long way.
The bed was very uncomfortable. Staff did not fix anything.
Very nice for the short time I was there. Second time we stayed there
Other than our checkout experience we had a good time.
Last minute choice on the road home and it was a great one. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
